How much CREMER is in an Ordinary Day?
Have you ever wondered how often you have already crossed paths with CREMER today?
Perhaps while brushing your teeth. At breakfast. In the car. Or while doing your shopping. Many raw materials and products from the CREMER world are part of things we use every day – often without us ever knowing.
Join Jenny as she moves through what seems like an ordinary day – and discovers that it is anything but. Because once you know where to look, one thing becomes clear: there is hardly a day without CREMER in it.
Jenny has an important day ahead of her. She is on her way to an appointment at CREMER’s headquarters in Hamburg, eager to find out what this internationally active family business is really all about. What she does not yet realise: long before she arrives, she will already have crossed paths with CREMER more often than she could ever have imagined.
First Things First: Wake Up
The alarm goes off. Jenny is awake – officially, at least.
Today, she has an appointment at CREMER. So she starts with everything that helps her properly come to life in the morning: brushing her teeth, putting on face cream. A perfectly normal morning routine, Jenny thinks.
What Jenny does not realise: even in the bathroom, CREMER is closer than she thinks.
Raw materials from the CREMER world can be found in toothpaste, soap, face cream, haircare products, eye drops or lipstick – including Cremerlin, fatty alcohols, fatty acids, glycerine, MCT oil, soap flakes or sorbitol.
CREMER OLEO trades in oleochemical raw materials for cosmetics, personal care, food, pharmaceutical and technical applications. In short: for many things that are surprisingly useful in the bathroom each morning.
A Breakfast for Two
Her stomach is rumbling. But Jenny is not the only one ready for breakfast. Her dog Frodo is already waiting, looking so loyal you would think he had not eaten for days. Which, of course, he has. Only yesterday evening.
So first things first: a tasty bowl of dog food for her furry friend. Then it is Jenny’s turn: cornflakes, spread, a croissant, rice cakes, orange juice and milk. Perhaps a little much for an ordinary morning. For the appointment she has planned today: just right.
Once again, CREMER is closer than Jenny thinks. Because there is more of the CREMER world in this breakfast than meets the eye: in animal feed, cereals, plant-based ingredients and raw materials that can be used in food products.
For example, in dog food (deuka dog), croissants (glycerine), cornflakes (cereals), orange nectar (glycerine), bulletproof coffee (MCT oil) or milk (liquid feed for cattle and dairy farming, which may also contain molasses).
deuka Tiernahrung Cremer
Whether for dogs, cattle, pigs or poultry: animal nutrition has been part of the CREMER world for many years. Good for Frodo.
Nordgetreide
Cornflakes, cereals and grain-based products bring CREMER expertise to the breakfast aisle – crunchy, everyday-friendly and surprisingly close to the first coffee of the day.
CREMER Molasses
Whether in animal feed, fermentation processes or industrial applications: molasses shows just how versatile a traditional raw material can be today.
Well Prepared for the Day
Jenny had, of course, laid out her outfit the night before. Very thoughtful and professional.
It is freshly washed, too. And because a good first impression sometimes starts in the wardrobe, she gave the laundry a little extra help: with a scent booster. She loves that wonderful fragrance when you take freshly washed clothes out of the closet. For Jenny, it is a small everyday luxury with a big effect. Mmm.
Contract Manufacturing
CREMER does not only trade in a wide range of raw materials. For various industries – including fabric care products, for example – CREMER also develops, produces, processes, blends, packages and delivers products to order for international customers and markets.
On Her Way
Jenny gets into the car. In her head, she sorts through her questions: What exactly does CREMER do? How do oleochemicals fit with steel? And how do you explain molasses without everyone immediately thinking of sugar beet syrup?
Then her eyes fall on the fuel gauge. Ah. She was actually very well prepared – apart from the refuelling.
At the petrol station, CREMER is once again closer than Jenny might think: for example through biodiesel, which is produced, among others, by CREMER Paraguay. And CREMER products or raw materials can also play a role in the car itself: from the steel in the bodywork to mineral raw materials used in technical applications. Brake pads, for instance, contain zircon sand, magnesite, chrome ore and kyanite.
CREMER STEEL
CREMER STEEL trades steel and steel products for international markets – a material used in industry, construction and technical applications, among many other fields.
CREMER ERZKONTOR
Minerals and ores turn up more often than one might think: in technical components, brake pads, tiles, paper or industrial processes.
Welcome to the CREMER World
At last, she has arrived at CREMER’s headquarters in Hamburg. Jenny enters the office, where she receives a warm welcome.
As she waits, she looks around: raw material samples, information brochures, product flyers. Everywhere, small clues point to big markets. Suddenly, her morning feels like a trail of clues she never meant to follow.
No stranger to Hamburg, at home in the world
CREMER has Hanseatic roots and is active today on every continent and across numerous industries. Over the past 80 years, what began as a trading house has grown into an international group of companies with many business fields.
When It All Falls Into Place
Shortly before the conversation begins, Jenny takes a piece of chewing gum, just to be on the safe side. Fresh breath, clear thoughts – it certainly cannot hurt. What almost makes her smile now: even this contains a small piece of CREMER, as glycerine is also used in products like these.
During her conversation with the friendly CREMER employee, Jenny realises that CREMER is not necessarily a company you encounter as a visible brand in everyday life. Its name is rarely printed in large letters on the packaging.
But CREMER is often behind the scenes: in raw materials, trade routes, production processes, supply chains or partnerships. And so you come across its products in the bathroom, at mealtimes, in the car or at the office.
Jenny looks at her notes and laughs. She had wanted to find out where CREMER appears in everyday life. Perhaps the shorter question would have been: where does it not?
A Day Full of Discoveries
After a day like this, Jenny has earned a treat. She goes to her favourite veggie burger restaurant, places her order and leans back, relaxed.
Even now, CREMER is not far away. Raw materials from the CREMER world play a role in the plant-based burger patty, the candle (stearin), the beverage can or crown cap (tinplate).
Jenny takes a bite and smiles. She was at CREMER today. But really, CREMER had been with her all day long.
Plant-based nutrition has long been more than just a trend. CREMER develops and produces meat alternatives and plant-based solutions for food markets – from raw materials to product ideas.
CREMER – Closer Than You Think
A day without CREMER? By now, Jenny would say: rather unlikely.
Because even though CREMER is not always visible, the company is often surprisingly close: in the raw materials, products, materials and solutions that make everyday life possible – from cosmetics and food to mobility and technology.
CREMER may not be written on everything. But more often than you might think, there is a bit of CREMER inside.
And that is exactly what makes the CREMER world so fascinating: it does not begin only in international markets. Sometimes, it begins first thing in the morning, right there in the bathroom.
Jenny enjoys the view over Hamburg and takes one thought with her: hardly a day goes by without CREMER being part of it.
