Bachelor of Arts

In medium-sized businesses, business administration (BA) graduates fill medium- to top-level positions in all commercial areas of business and administration. Their main focus is marketing and sales, procurement and warehousing, accounting and financing – or human resources. Especially in smaller companies, graduates in business administration can work across departments. In this case, detailed knowledge of the marketis necessary and high customer orientation is required – especially in negotiations.

The Bachelor of Business Administration gives you a broad business know-how that makes you flexible in many areas of business. You spend a significant part of your dual study course in the company to get to know the various departments such as trading / sales, controlling, finance and human resources. You also take on challenging projects. Besides, it is possible to stay abroad at one of our international locations. After successfully completing your studies with the academic degree Bachelor of Arts, you can expect a variety of fields of application or even management tasks in a business administration environment.

Bachelor of Engineering

This practical Bachelor's programme is offered in cooperation with Lübeck University of Applied Sciences with the aim of training young talent in the food industry. The integrated degree programme runs over 4.5 years, culminating in a ”Bachelor of Engineering”. Parallel to the studies at Lübeck University of Applied Sciences, vocational training in food technology takes place at Nordgetreide. This is done in cooperation with the Neumünster vocational school.

After successful completion of the degree course, graduates can work in a large variety of fields in food production, food production organisation and control, production controlling, process development, as well as production management.

Training location

Electronics technician for operating technology

The three-and-a-half-year training programme for electronics technicians for operating technology prepares you for exiting and responsible tasks. In cooperation with the vocational school, you regularly alternate between vocational school blocks and practical phases.

Electronics technicians for operating technology manufacture mechanical parts and connections and are responsible for laying and connecting lines and cables throughout the company. In addition, they are also responsible for the assembly, installation and wiring of energy systems.

Training location

IT specialist

IT specialists develop and program software according to customer requirements. They test existing applications, adjust these and create user-friendly interfaces. In their day-to-day work, they use programming languages and tools such as developer tools.

They also employ software engineering methods. Furthermore, IT specialists rectify errors – with the aid of experts and diagnostics systems – and advise or train users.

Training location

Food technologist

Whether in the soft drinks, delicatessen or food industry: Food technologists produce various foodstuffs using automated or computer-controlled machines and systems. They are involved in all stages of processing, from the receipt of the raw materials up to the finished packaged products. First, raw materials, semi-finished goods and finished goods are received at goods-in, and the quality is checked. Thereafter, the goods are sent directly to the warehouse or the processing facility. They ensure that the relevant production has all necessary ingredients available, prepare these and set up the machines and systems. Following set recipes, the ingredients are added, and production is started.

Food technologists supervise processing steps such as mixing, preservation and packaging, and immediately intervene in the event of deviation or fault. They also continuously monitor the quality of the intermediate and final products

Industrial business administrators

Industrial business administrators control business processes in the company. They compare offers, negotiate with suppliers and take care of goods-in and storage.

In the production industry, they plan, control and monitor the manufacture of goods or provision of services, and prepare accompanying paperwork. Calculations and the preparation of price lists, as well as sales negotiations with customers are part of their tasks. Furthermore, they operate in the fields of accounting, finance, marketing and human resources.

Training location

Industrial mechanic

The three-and-a-half-year training programme for industrial mechanics prepares you for exiting and responsible tasks. In cooperation with the vocational school you regularly alternate between vocational school days and practical phases.

The training takes place in our maintenance department, and is aimed an applicants who enjoy learning a technical profession.

Industrial mechanics are responsible for the set-up and maintenance of machines. To this end, they also manufacture spare parts themselves, and learn how to dismantle and assemble devices and assembly groups in the course of their training. This means they make an important contribution to a smooth, effective, economical and modern production.

Management assistant in wholesale and foreign trade

Wholesale and foreign trade management assistants organise the exchange of goods and service provisions in export and import transactions, they observe the national and international procurement markets, identify sources and request offers.

When goods have been purchased, they check invoices and delivery documents and calculate prices for resale. In doing so, they conduct purchasing, consulting and sales meetings with suppliers and customers – if necessary, also in a foreign language. The sale and resale of goods takes place in accordance with foreign trade and customs regulations as well as international trade clauses.

Training location

Mechatronics technician

Mechatronics technicians manufacture mechanical, electrical and electronic components and assemble these into complex systems and plants. They commission the finished systems, program them and install the relevant software. The specialists work according to wiring diagrams and construction drawings and carefully inspect systems, before handing them over to customers. Repair and maintenance, as well as retrofitting machines also fall under their responsibility.

Training location

Process technologist in the milling and grain industry

Process technologists in the milling and grain industry manufacture grain products, feeds and special products, such as spice powders. In doing so, they check incoming orders and specify the individual work steps, for example the receipt of raw materials, cleaning and preparation for processing, the setting up of systems and machines, and the monitoring of the production process.

They also perform laboratory tests, as well as visual and tactile inspections and odour checks of the ground products. Their responsibilities also include the storage and packaging of the products in compliance with hygiene regulations and occupational health and safety regulations. If necessary, they will take measures against pest infestation.
