Our Responsibility for a Sustainable Future
Our world is facing major challenges. Climate change, dwindling resources, and social inequality affect us all. At the same time, awareness of sustainable practices is growing worldwide, both in society and in business. As an international, family-owned company, CREMER takes responsibility and actively contributes to global sustainability goals.

At CREMER, sustainability is particularly important to us. We are guided by the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), launched in 2015 with the aim of creating a livable and sustainable future for all by 2030. The SDGs help identify and address key challenges, such as poverty, inequality, climate change, and environmental degradation.
Not all of these goals are relevant to our field of activity. We focus on areas where we can make a real difference: providing sustainable products and services to our customers, ensuring the health and safety of our employees, and maintaining responsible, sustainable supply chains.
By doing this, we are already helping to create a better future for ourselves and future generations.
Our Sustainability Vision
Our vision for sustainability is clear: We want to become one of the world's leading and most sustainable partners for high-quality nutrition, oleochemistry, and trade and logistics solutions.
Above all, we rely on our dedicated and qualified employees to achieve this. Their flexibility and innovative thinking enable us to respond quickly to changes in the market. We pursue a cooperative and holistic approach to greater sustainability in dialogue with our partners and stakeholders.
We generate a significant portion of our profits through new, sustainable sources of income and existing business models that we have developed further in line with sustainability principles. Long-term progress is always more important to us than short-term profits.
At CREMER, sustainability is more than just a responsibility: it is a fundamental part of our business activities, enabling us to create long-term value.
The CREMER Sustainability Report
Sustainability has played a major role in CREMER's business activities for several years now. In 2025, we published our third sustainability report, which provided an overview of our activities in 2024.
We owe our successes to the commitment and dedication of our employees in all regions, and to the trust and cooperation of our stakeholders. We are grateful for their collective efforts, which continue to drive change and reinforce our commitment to leading responsibly.

On the Path to Greater Sustainability at CREMER
In recent years, CREMER has overcome many challenges and achieved considerable success in advancing the issue of sustainability. Below is an overview of our sustainability initiatives:
Sustainability team and global responsibility
We have established a central sustainability team at our headquarters in Hamburg that consistently pursues CREMER's sustainability goals. The team coordinates the implementation of the sustainability strategy, monitors progress and supports the global business units in integrating sustainable measures.
In addition, sustainability managers in all business units worldwide ensure that our initiatives are implemented. Regular sustainability committees promote knowledge sharing, address industry-specific challenges and develop strategic measures. This close cooperation ensures that sustainability remains an integral part of our corporate strategy and is continually developed.
2023
Workshops, target setting, and strategy finalization
In 2023, our main focus was close collaboration with our global business units. Based on the results of the first sustainability report, we developed specific initiatives together during targeted one-to-one workshops. At the same time, we finalised the sustainability strategy and defined company-wide objectives, which was an important step in aligning and advancing our activities in a measurable way.
2024
Supply Chain Assessment
As a company employing more than 1,000 people, we comply with the requirements of the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG), taking responsibility for human rights and environmental standards throughout our supply chains. To detect risks early on, we use dedicated supplier assessment software that analyses location and industry risks. Each subsidiary has a designated supply chain manager.
In the event of violations of sustainability standards, our focus is on cooperation and achieving sustainable improvements. We only consider terminating the business relationship when all other measures have failed.
CSRD-Standards
In 2024, we also further professionalised our data collection, both in preparation for upcoming sustainability reporting and for the targeted management of strategic measures. Since the start of the 2024 reporting year, we have been aligning our data collection with the standards of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSDR).
2025
Win-win initiatives and further quantification
Since 2025, we have been increasingly focusing on implementing win-win initiatives – measures that both make a positive contribution to environmental and social goals and create economic added value. This is not just about traditional efficiency gains, but about holistic approaches that use sustainability as a driver for innovation, customer satisfaction, and long-term competitiveness.
At the same time, we are intensifying our efforts to systematically quantify our sustainability performance. By improving the quality of our data and creating meaningful key performance indicators, we are increasing transparency about our progress, both internally and externally, and strengthening the basis for fact-based decision-making across all areas of our business. This makes sustainability increasingly measurable, comparable and controllable from a strategic perspective.
