Könnern site celebrates 50th anniversary with guests from the region

Our plant has developed continuously over the last 50 years - technically, organizationally and personally. We are proud of what we have built in Könnern and look forward to celebrating this special milestone together with the people of the town and region.
Thomas Schulze, Plant Manager Könnern

Exciting insights, colorful family program and exchange at eye level

The anniversary celebration offered visitors an informative and eventful morning. The focus was on guided tours of the production facilities, a presentation of the feed produced on site and an exhibition of the company's own silo trucks. Younger guests were also well catered for with a bouncy castle, face painting and crayons. In addition, colleagues provided information about current job vacancies and training opportunities at a specially set up stand. Barbecued food and cool drinks were also provided.

A location through the ages

As a modern concentrated feed mixing plant with an innovative concept, the Könnern plant went into operation on May 2, 1975. Originally designed for the production of poultry and pig feed, the capacity was no longer sufficient just a few months after the start of production, so a four-shift system was introduced. In the years that followed, additional raw material and feed silos were built, each of which could hold up to 50 truckloads. At the end of the 1980s, the plant reached an annual production of over 100,000 tons for the first time.

After the political change in 1990, deuka Deutsche Kraftfutterwerke, one of the predecessor companies of Deutsche Tiernahrung Cremer, bought the production site. Since then, the new site has been gradually modernized and expanded. New presses for the production of pellet feed were installed, dosing and control optimized and the production program expanded to include cattle feed.

The Könnern plant today - a strong partner in the region

Today, the Könnern plant is one of the most important production sites of Deutsche Tiernahrung Cremer. The technical facilities are continuously modernized and adapted to the requirements of a dynamic market. Currently, 25 dedicated employees and three trainees produce over 20 tons of animal feed per hour with the help of three high-performance pressing systems. As a reliable supplier and employer, the plant in the heart of the Salzland district has strong links with the town of Könnern and the entire region.
