A world without cows? CREMER customer event invited farmers to a dialog

Around 70 guests from the agricultural sector and trade gathered in Beilrode, Saxony, where Peter Cremer GmbH runs a liquid feed production site in partnership with the agricultural company Oberhoff.

The highlight of the event was the screening of the highly acclaimed documentary World Without Cows, which was recently presented at the European Parliament in a European premiere. Award-winning filmmakers Michelle and Brandon Michael spent three years travelling the world for their documentary, interviewing farmers and experts in agriculture and the environment to answer a simple question: Would we be better off in a world without cows? The film sheds light on the cultural, ecological, and economic significance of cattle farming, inspiring intensive discussions among the guests in Beilrode following the screening.

“This is precisely the dialogue we want to initiate,” says Marika Franke, liquid feed salesperson at Peter Cremer GmbH. "Farmers need to be heard, and we want to offer our customers a platform for this."

As well as the film, the event included a tour of the production and mixing plant. The new liquid feed product, MolassemixPlus, was also presented. This innovative feed product offers dairy cows a high-quality combination of sugar and proteins, thereby increasing milk production and feed efficiency, and helping to achieve agricultural sustainability goals.

"We want to create real added value — both in the barn and in the debate about the future of animal husbandry", emphasises Torsten Scheibe, liquid feed salesman at Peter Cremer GmbH. Another special service is that, upon request, CREMER supports its customers in selecting and providing suitable storage tanks without multi-year purchase commitments.

The production site in Beilrode is a joint project between Peter Cremer GmbH and the agricultural company Oberhoff and was opened in 2023. Peter Cremer GmbH is one of the world's leading traders in molasses and is part of the international trading and industrial company CREMER. Deutsche Tiernahrung Cremer is the largest private compound feed producer in Germany. CREMER was founded in 1946 by Peter Cremer. With more than 2,600 employees and over 60 companies and holdings, CREMER is active on all continents. The company is headquartered in Hamburg.
