Dr. Christian Flach: “CREMER Has Everything a Successful Company Needs for the Future”
Dr. Flach, you have been CEO of CREMER for several months now. What makes CREMER special in your view?
If I had to describe CREMER in three words, they would be diversity, culture and enthusiasm.
Our diversity is one of our greatest strengths. We operate in a wide range of markets and regions and offer a broad product portfolio. This makes us resilient and creates opportunities that many other companies simply do not have. At the same time, we are united by a shared corporate culture. And alongside professionalism, I believe it is equally important that people enjoy working together and take pride in what they do.
CREMER is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year. What still defines the company at its core today?
For me, it is above all the unique combination of entrepreneurial spirit and long-term thinking. Over the decades, CREMER has continuously evolved while never losing sight of sustainable growth.
This long-term perspective is often what sets family-owned businesses apart from other types of companies. Decisions are not made with the next quarter in mind, but with a view to the years and generations ahead.
Over the decades, CREMER has continuously evolved while never losing sight of sustainable growth.
At the same time, the world is changing rapidly. Where do you see the greatest growth opportunities for CREMER?
In the past, we have demonstrated that we can respond quickly to changing market conditions. Going forward, it will be important to combine the strengths that have made us successful with new ideas and fresh perspectives.
I see significant potential in areas such as nutrition and contract manufacturing, as well as wherever we can leverage our international presence and expertise in a targeted way.
How do current social and geopolitical developments influence CREMER’s strategy?
Market uncertainty is something we deal with every day. As an internationally active trading and industrial company, we must remain flexible and adapt to change.
That flexibility is one of our strengths. Successful traders and entrepreneurs prove themselves especially when conditions become challenging. It is about finding solutions, developing alternatives and identifying opportunities.
Going forward, it will be important to combine the strengths that have made us successful with new ideas and fresh perspectives.
What role do employees play in the future of the company?
A central one. Our employees are CREMER’s most important success factor. That is why we invest specifically in talent development, leadership development and collaboration across our companies.
We want to give people opportunities to grow within the Group and gain international experience. This not only benefits individual employees, but also strengthens CREMER as a whole.
Looking ten years ahead, what story should people be telling about CREMER?
I would like people to say that CREMER is a successful international company that has preserved its values while continuing to evolve.
A company where people enjoy working, that has remained open to new ideas and that, even after 90 years, continues to look to the future with the same entrepreneurial mindset that has shaped it from the beginning.
We invest specifically in talent development, leadership development and collaboration across our companies.
