March 7 is National Cereal Day
Cereals are a breakfast classic around the world. Their foundation lies in high-quality grains such as corn, wheat, oats, rye, spelt and barley. These grains provide valuable nutrients and are particularly rich in dietary fibre.
Nordgetreide processes these raw materials into cornflakes, crunchy mueslis and other cereal products – with a strong focus on quality, efficient production processes and reliable supply.
The company looks back on a long history. In 1966, a corn mill was established at the Lübeck-Schlutup site, which still forms the basis for the company’s own raw material processing today. Since 1988, Nordgetreide has been producing cornflakes and has continuously expanded its expertise in the cereal segment.
Today, more than 600 employees across three locations work to transform grain into high-quality cereal products. Nordgetreide’s cereals and crunchy mueslis are now sold in around 30 countries worldwide.
Another milestone is approaching: in 2026: Nordgetreide will celebrate its 60th anniversary, a special occasion that will be marked across the company’s sites.
Whether enjoyed with milk, plant-based alternatives or fresh fruit, National Cereal Day is a great opportunity to enjoy a bowl of cereal – and to appreciate the people and value creation behind these products.
