Climate action with impact: CREMER offsets business travel emissions
Sustainability is a long-term process for CREMER. Our focus is on avoiding emissions and continuing to reduce them. Where emissions cannot yet be fully avoided in our international business operations, we take responsibility.
As in previous years, CREMER also offset emissions in 2025 by purchasing CO₂ certificates for travel to customers, suppliers and partners. In total, 1,534 tonnes of CO₂ equivalents were compensated. CREMER supports two projects that combine climate action with social development and sustainable economic perspectives.
Forest protection project in Mexico
The Ejido Coatepec Harinas Forestry Carbon Project near Mexico City improves the sustainable management of community-managed forests. Through targeted thinning, firebreaks and natural regeneration, the project strengthens long-term CO₂ storage and the health of ecosystems.
At the same time, the project creates jobs for people in the region, actively involves local communities and protects biodiversity as well as important watersheds around the Nevado de Toluca volcano.
Solar cooker project in China
The Houji Solar Cooker Project in Henan Province supports rural households in switching from coal stoves to solar cookers. This reduces CO₂ emissions. At the same time, it improves air quality in people’s homes, as less smoke and fewer pollutants are released during cooking.
In this way, the project combines climate action with tangible benefits for the local population. More than 50,000 solar cookers have already been distributed. The project also creates safe jobs in the region.
Part of CREMER’s sustainability strategy
Both projects show how climate action, social responsibility and sustainable development can work together. For CREMER, offsetting business travel emissions is a complementary element of our sustainability strategy.
Our focus remains clear: We are working to further reduce our emissions, use resources efficiently and implement planned improvement measures step by step.
